When you have a design or a project in mind, you may want to take a look around the various tooling usage video in the Products section. These may generate ideas on the cut or joinery that you want to achieve. Glue up and clamping device may help as well.
Icebreakers Questions to Realize Your Design
What type of wood species do I plan on using in your project? Will I be using only one, or working with multiple species?
How do I plan on assembling my project? Which portions do I plan to do with machining, and what will be done with hand tools or by other means?
What machinery do I have in my shop at present? If I'm planning to add anything for this job, what is it?
What level of precision do I need for this project, and how many do I plan on building? This has a lot of influence over choosing the best way to complete it.
Which type of joinery would I prefer to use in putting materials together? This might include:
- Mortise and tenon construction
- Dowel construction
- Mechanical construction
- Miter joint construction
Is there any finger jointing, glue up or clamping need?
What about curve work?
